How to use mouthwash for cleaning windows and mirrors and does it even work

For example, a recommendation appeared on social media to wash windows and mirrors with mouthwash if you don't have a suitable glass cleaner. Supposedly, mouthwash dissolves dirt well, leaves glass surfaces shiny and does not cause streaks. House Digest decided to find out if this is true.
Housekeeping blogs, some cleaning companies, and even some dental clinics have started recommending the product. In fact, this method is sometimes recommended in case you have no other cleaning products.
The reason for this advice may be the alcohol contained in some types of rinses. It is also the basis of many glass cleaning liquids. And it's not just ethanol, but other types of alcohol as well. For example, in mouthwash, you can find isopropanolamine or isopropyl alcohol, which are also suitable for glass cleaning.
Alcohol acts as a solvent, and it can help get dirt and stains off your windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces. However, it is unclear how other ingredients in an oral hygiene product can affect gloss. However, it can be assumed that some components of the mouthwash can leave streaks. Still, even if you take the risk of washing the windows with mouthwash and the experiment fails, all you risk is time spent washing the glass surface. You must admit that this risk is quite acceptable.
However, there are a few steps you should take before you open a bottle of mouthwash. First, check whether your product contains any alcohol, as alcohol-free versions may not work at all. One way to do this is to moisten a microfiber cloth and add a small amount of mouthwash. Now clean the window, mirror, or other glass surface and wipe it dry with another cloth. To be sure, try starting with a very small spot on the edge of the glass to make sure there are no negative effects.
Another method is to mix equal parts water and rinse aid in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the glass and wipe it off. To clean gadget screens, apply a minimal amount of rinse aid to a cloth, wipe off any stains or fingerprints thoroughly, and then then just let them dry.
