Limescale in the kettle is harmless, but it can cause your hot drinks to taste unpleasant. It is caused by the evaporation of hard water, which leaves behind minerals such as calcium and magnesium carbonate.

Most people use harsh chemicals to remove limescale from their kettles, but they are expensive and difficult to clean afterward. Therefore, you can use a simple natural remedy – raw rice, writes OBOZ.UA.

All you need is a spoonful of raw rice and a little water to remove stubborn limescale deposits. Rice is abrasive and will be able to gently clean limescale without damaging the kettle.

Mix a spoonful of raw rice with water in the kettle, shake and rinse. You will see that the rice has cleaned the limescale due to its coarse texture.

This means that you don't need to buy expensive and harsh chemical cleaners, and you don't need to worry about damaging the inside of the kettle or inhaling dangerous fumes.

Always rinse the kettle thoroughly after cleaning so that residue does not affect the taste of your water.
