Summer heat is a serious test for the skin. During this period, it is better to avoid makeup altogether and apply only high-quality sunscreen. However, if you can't do without makeup, you should make sure that your face is not covered with an oily sheen in the first hours after application.

A life hack that will help get rid of oily sheen is gaining popularity online. It was demonstrated by Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles.

Step-by-step instructions

The 27-year-old gymnast shared on TikTok a makeup application technique that will provide a long-lasting matte finish. The first step is to apply SPF with a level of protection of at least 30.

Apply foundation with a cosmetic sponge.

Use a nose and cheekbone contouring stick to create a defined base.

Next, take the bronzer powder and apply it to the cheeks and eyelids. Lip pencil and blush complete the look.

To make sure that makeup remains "extra matte," Biles advises doing the last two steps in an unusual order, first using not one but two setting sprays, then applying powder.

After the setting sprays had dried, Biles applied the setting powder with a dense brush.

By the way, to get rid of oily sheen and protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation, you can also supplement your makeup with mineral powder, which will give a matte effect. This will also eliminate the need to renew your SPF cream every 3-4 hours.
