Gigi Hadid appeared in a stylish robe: who started the trend

A winter coat is one of the most important items in our wardrobe. It is not just a part of personal style, but also keeps us warm from the cold. But this doesn't mean that the functionality of a coat should dominate its appearance.

This was demonstrated by model and entrepreneur Gigi Hadid. She came to the opening of the pop-up store of her cashmere clothing brand Guest in Residence in Seoul, South Korea, wearing outerwear that resembles a cozy robe, Vogue writes. Gigi's cashmere wrap coat has padded shoulders and a wide belt. It also has a nice fluffy texture.

Hadid complemented her look with straight jeans and Miu Miu loafers, which she wore without socks. All together, it created a relaxed look, as if the star had just popped out of her house to pick up the mail.

The trend may have been pioneered by Isabelle Huppert, who walked the red carpet at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in a Balenciaga robe made of silk. Then, at the September launch of Fenty Hair at Selfridges, Rihanna appeared in an off-the-shoulder Jacquemus dress. And soon after, Angelina Jolie wore a Falconeri coat with a shawl collar at the New York Film Festival. So, the coat-robe can be called a trend of this winter.
