Generational change in the Marvel universe: "The Avengers" will be led by Wilson, and Downey Jr. will oppose the team
Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, has been leading the superhero team in the Infinity Saga for many years. However, in the next episodes of the project, his place will be taken by the new Captain America, Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie. This was officially confirmed by "Captain America: Brave New World" director Julius Vaughn. According to him, the film will consolidate Wilson's status as the new leader of the Avengers and prepare him for the challenges ahead.
What else will change in the popular franchise, and when will the movie premiere, OBOZ. UA tells.
The main antagonist of the new movie
In the upcoming episodes, Wilson will face serious opponents. In the movie "Captain America: Brave New World," he will face the Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) and Dr. Doom (Robert Downey Jr.).
This decision is of great interest, as Downey used to be an integral part of the Marvel cinematic universe in the role of Tony Stark, who sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos. The details of his appearance in the new look are still being kept secret, but according to the comics, Dr. Doom is one of the most powerful villains, the main enemy of the Fantastic Four.
In the new movie, the superhero team is likely to face him in full force, including the characters of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bacrak (at least in Doomsday).
Expected characters and release dates
In addition to Wilson, Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is rumored to appear in the new films, and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will join the team to help deal with the new threat. Spider-Man (Tom Holland) may also return, but there is no official confirmation yet.
The premiere of "Captain America: Brave New World" will take place on February 13, and "Avengers: Doomsday" will be released in May 2026.
