Experts have chosen the best affordable car with an unexpected feature

The low-cost car segment is not dying, no matter what anyone says. The proof is right here. Experts tested several interesting affordable cars in an unexpected competition and chose the best one.

The tests were conducted at Hagerty. Obviously, fast driving is not what comes to mind when choosing an affordable car. Much more often, buyers pay attention to completely different features.

Nevertheless, speed was put at the forefront of the group test. The authors decided to choose the fastest car with a price of less than $35,000.

There are many contenders, and all models are very interesting. Ford Mustang, Subaru WRX, Hyundai Elantra N, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Mini Cooper S, turbocharged Mazda 3, Toyota GR86. These are well-known sports cars, united by their power and affordability.

The Korean model Hyundai Elantra N was the winner, albeit by a small margin. Interestingly, the car accelerated to 60 mph (about 100 km/h) in just 4.9 seconds! The group of cars under test has very different offers: there are sedans, coupes, hatchbacks, cars with front, rear, and even all-wheel drive. The choice is wide even with such a price limit.
