Emphasis on cheapness and electrification: which new cars were named the best
Experts have named the best cars of 2024 as part of the World Car of the Year finalists. Interestingly, the list includes mostly inexpensive models. However, the jury also emphasized electrification.
The list of ten finalists includes a lot of crossovers, as buyers are very fond of such cars. There are also several electric and hybrid models. The details were published on the website of the annual World Car of the Year competition.
The best cars of 2024 are the finalists of the World Car of the Year:
- BYD Seal;
- Ford Bronco;
- Hyundai Kona;
- Hyundai Santa Fe;
- Kia EV9;
- Mazda CX-90;
- Subaru Crosstrek;
- Toyota Prius;
- Volkswagen ID.7;
- Volvo EX30.
The low-cost Ford Bronco SUV became a finalist in the competition.

It is noticeable that the jury prioritizes electrified models, which dominate the list. Over time, such vehicles have become more affordable, which is reflected in the finalists.
The winner will be chosen among these ten candidates in April 2024.
