It is based on the most common baking soda, which should be mixed with water. Its alkaline nature copes better with fat than vinegar acid.
So, to make your oven cleaner, mix three parts baking soda with two parts water to make the amount of paste you need. The paste should be thick enough to adhere well to surfaces. Apply it to all parts of the oven that need to be cleaned and leave it on for 20 minutes. After that, rub the stains on the surfaces and rinse off the remaining baking soda.
Experts say that a mixture of baking soda and water is one of the easiest cleaners you can make. It absorbs dirt well, as well as softens and dissolves grease.
However, you should not mix it with acids to clean the oven. An alkaline cleaner can handle dirt on its own. Vinegar or citric acid are not able to destroy stuck-on dirt that can bake on the inner walls of the oven.
