Romanian may return to Kyiv again

Former Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu may return to the Kyiv club as CEO, GSP reports. According to media reports, the 78-year-old Romanian specialist has already received an offer and is seriously considering it.

Rapid Bucharest is also interested in Lucescu's services, offering him a job as a coach. However, GSP clarifies that, given the option with Dynamo, Rapid's chances of success are not very high.

"As I said, I won't make any decisions until June 1. Yes, I indeed met with Rapid's representatives, but it's a long way from a meeting to an official decision," Mircea said.

Mircea Lucescu led the Kyiv team from July 2020 to November 2023. He played 118 matches with the team, winning the league title, the Cup, and the Super Cup of Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Dynamo president Ihor Surkis admitted that with the departure of Mircea Lucescu, Kyiv players have gained more freedom. The Romanian specialist announced his resignation on November 3 at a press conference after the defeat of Shakhtar Donetsk in the 13th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.
