Drivers warned against a common habit: it "kills" cars
Most Ukrainians use a car almost every day to go to work, to the store, or to visit relatives. In this case, it is very easy to form habits that can lead to dangerous situations or damage vital components.
As it turned out, one of the most common habits that can end up being particularly expensive is clutching, OBOZ.UA reports.
Experts advise drivers to make sure that they take their foot off the clutch pedal every time between gear changes and when it is not in use. Even the slightest pressure on the pedal can lead to premature wear.
A particularly common problem for motorists who encounter heavy traffic during their travels is that the driver keeps their foot on the pedal when the car is stationary.
While this can help drivers move off as quickly as possible without shifting gears, this practice can lead to several consequences, including significantly faster clutch wear.
In extreme cases, the clutch can fail in the middle of a trip, forcing drivers to stop as soon as it is safe to do so and buy a replacement unit, which usually costs a lot.
