Criminals are attracted to inexpensive cars: what cars are stolen in Ukraine

According to statistics, the number of car thefts in Ukraine decreased in 2024. Data has been released on the regions and specific manufacturers that attract criminals. Inexpensive cars are leading the anti-rating.

Opendatabot's information shows 765 vehicles stolen in Ukraine since the beginning of 2024. For comparison, in the first nine months of 2023, 1,249 vehicles were stolen, and in 2022 - 11,734.

What types of vehicles are stolen in Ukraine:

• cars (67.5%);
• trucks (12.8%);
• motorcycles (5.5%);
• trailers (5.4%);
• tractors (4.3%);
• mopeds (2.7%);
• buses (1.4%);
• motor scooters (0.4%).

Donetsk region accounted for the largest number of vehicles (256). This is followed by Kherson (166) and Volyn (104).

What cars are most often stolen in Ukraine in 2024:

• Nissan (8%);
• VAZ (7.5%);
• Volkswagen (6.9%);
• Mitsubishi (6.3%);
• GAZ (3.5%);
• Ford (3.1%);
• KAMAZ (2.9%);

• Renault (2.7%);
• Opel (2.6%).
