Fans of the Mitsubishi brand have already forgotten about the Pajero SUV (also known as the Mitsubishi Montero). But the Japanese company is preparing this model for a long-awaited return and will be able to surprise. The novelty will be cheaper than many had previously assumed.
New details have become known to BestCarWeb. The Mitsubishi Pajero model was discontinued in 2021 (not to be confused with the current Mitsubishi Pajero Sport). However, amid the popularity of SUVs, the Japanese manufacturer is preparing a revival of the car.
Earlier it was reported that the new model will be built on the basis of the Nissan Patrol/Armada. The new generation of these huge vehicles debuted recently. The flagship Infiniti QX80 SUV is built on the same platform. And this turned out to be a problem.
The Mitsubishi Pajero model will again have two variants.

Inside the alliance, the manufacturers discussed building a new 5th-generation Mitsubishi Pajero based on the Patrol/Armada/QX80. However, Nissan denied that it would be inappropriate for such a high-end model to "share" its technical developments.
In fact, Mitsubishi will be developing the vehicles on its own. For this purpose, the CMF-C/D platform will be modernized. As a result, the car will be slightly more compact, but also cheaper. The new car will be built on a modified Mitsubishi Outlander platform. The Pajero Sport SUV will be developed on the basis of the Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck.
