The American tech company Apple tries to keep its iPhone smartphone fans entertained by periodically adding brand-new gadgets to the lineup. It seems that in 2026, there will be two such novelties.
Journalist Mark Gurman has published the first insider information about the upcoming new products in Bloomberg. According to an unnamed source, the changes will concern the smartphone form factor.
Thus, one of them will probably become a foldable model. Similar devices have already been released by competitors from the South Korean company Samsung. Rumors that Apple is preparing a folding iPhone have been circulating for years. According to available data, the new product will resemble the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, which folds across.
There is almost no information about the second new product. Some experts assume that it will also be a folding model, but the fold line will run lengthwise. Samsung Galaxy Fold has a similar form factor.
It is worth noting that Apple's head of hardware John Ternus recently called the company's upcoming innovations "the most ambitious in history." This indirectly confirms Gurman's data.
At the same time, the journalist suggested that Apple does not plan to rush to release "budget" iPhone 17e and 18e smartphones. At present, the company's analysts intend to study the demand for the recent iPhone 16e in more detail. Demand for it will decide the fate of similar devices in the future.
