Apple is preparing a MacBook Pro with a new design: when will it be released

The American technology corporation Apple has achieved significant success in all markets it has entered, except for one. The company has not been able to show anything decent in video game devices. It looks like it plans to change that soon.

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who is close to Apple, the Cupertino company is currently preparing a new MacBook Pro. The machine is scheduled for release in 2026. It should have a new design and enough power to become a gaming device.

According to Gurman's forecasts, the laptop should receive M6, M6 Pro, and M6 Max chips created using the 2-nm process technology. In addition, it will have an OLED screen instead of an IPS matrix, as well as a thinner body. This should be enough to turn the gadget into a gaming station.

Moreover, according to Gurman, the newly released Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chips is capable of this. Its small size and compatibility with TVs makes it an ideal starting point for a new breakthrough in this area.

However, the journalist advises those who want to upgrade from models with M1 or M2 processors not to rush to upgrade their equipment. Older laptops are still powerful enough to compete with the newly introduced model. And Gurman expects a real breakthrough from the line of laptops that are being prepared for release in 2026. The MacBook Pro update with the M5 chip, scheduled for the fall of 2025, will be limited to a new processor made on a 3nm process technology, without changes in design. That is, those who want a serious upgrade should really wait.
