Apple is no longer repairing: two iPhone models have joined the list of obsolete ones

Every year, when Apple introduces new gadgets, it also removes a certain number of old devices from service. In 2024, two iPhone models were removed from this program

According to iTech.ua, the manufacturer considers "vintage" gadgets to be those that were discontinued 5 years ago and are no longer sold. Apple reserves the obligation to repair such devices, but only if original spare parts are available.

This fall, the "vintage" category includes:

• iPhone 6s Plus;
• iPhone XS Max.

As for the iPhone 6s Plus, it is only a model with a large amount of internal memory. The version equipped with 32 GB of internal storage was included in the list of obsolete earlier.

By the way, Apple considers "obsolete" those smartphones whose last sale took place seven years ago. Such gadgets are no longer repaired at all. Only the battery can be replaced. The company undertakes to update it within 10 years. Thus, steel and aluminum Apple Watch Series 2 were also classified as obsolete this year.
