The stylish SEAT IBL sedan was built on the basis of the budget model Skoda Octavia. The Spanish manufacturer used this striking car to study the demand for such a vehicle. However, nothing came out of the results.
Motor1 reflected on the SEAT IBL model. This car appeared in 2011, but so far, the Octavia-based sedan has not appeared in the SEAT lineup. Although everyone liked the IBL prototype at the time.
The car has a stylish appearance that really attracts attention. There were no technical details, but the hypothetical production car could probably be equipped with a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines. And nowadays, hybrid powertrains are also offered.
Despite the positive reviews, it turned out to be impossible to buy a SEAT IBL - the Spanish sedan has never been produced. Obviously, VW decided to avoid internal competition with the Jetta, the same Octavia, and even the Audi A3 sedan.
Today, there is no reason to have high hopes for the model to appear. First, the market priority has been given to crossovers. Secondly, VW is now closely monitoring the successes (and failures) of SEAT to determine the fate of the entire brand.
