A Russian tourist was sentenced to a year in prison in Cyprus over the death of a child: what she did

A Russian tourist was sentenced to 12 months in prison in Paphos, Cyprus. The woman flew to the island for a vacation with her ten-year-old daughter. One evening, the Russian woman invited friends to her villa, got very drunk and did not watch the child, who drowned in the pool.
The court sentenced a tourist from a terrorist country to a year in prison for reckless and dangerous actions that led to the death of her daughter. This was reported by the Cyprus Mail.
The mother and daughter had reportedly been living in a villa in the Coral Bay area of Paphos since July 15. The girl allegedly suffered from a neurological disorder.
On July 20, the mother from Russia invited friends to the villa. The guests, who arrived at the address, found the woman drunk to the point where she passed out and her daughter at the bottom of the pool.
The rescue service was called to the scene. The girl was pulled out of the water, but it was too late to save her - doctors only pronounced her dead. The unconscious Russian citizen was also taken to the hospital.
When the Russian woman sobered up, she was sent for treatment to Limassol General Hospital in a state of shock from what had happened, where she was detained. At the trial, the accused pleaded guilty.
