A resident of Chernihiv region was beaten and raped: three Russian soldiers will be tried for crimes during the occupation
Ukraine will try three Russian invaders who abused and sexually assaulted a local resident during the occupation of the village of Yahidne, Chernihiv region. In early March 2022, the Russians illegally detained a civilian, allegedly suspecting her of collaborating with the Armed Forces.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine. The occupiers took the woman to a house in the village, beat her, forced her to undress, and then raped her.
After that, the invaders transferred the Ukrainian woman to the "death cellar" in a local school. There, they expelled all civilians from one of the rooms and repeated their criminal acts against the victim.
It was established that these crimes in Yahidne were committed by Russian servicemen aged 37, 30, and 28.
Currently, investigators of the Specialized Department of the Investigation Department of the Chernihiv Police under the procedural supervision of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office have completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings against the occupiers. An indictment was drawn up against them under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war). The case against the perpetrators was sent to court.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, in the village of Yahidne, Chernihiv region, Russian occupants shot unarmed civilians and destroyed their homes. At gunpoint, local residents were driven to the basement under the school, where the invaders held them for almost a month.
There were more than 300 people in the room. The Russian soldiers used people as human shields, and when a civilian died in the basement, the bodies were not allowed to be taken out, so people lived among the corpses for hours and even days.
Law enforcement officers managed to find out which of the occupiers was in the village in March 2022 and committed illegal acts against civilians. These Russian soldiers were notified of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war.
