The fight ended in the 6th round
The former WBA regular world champion (2016-2017), WBA interim world champion (2015-2016), EBU European champion (2019-2022) and WBC Baltic champion (2013-2015) in welterweight David Avanesyan (30-5-1, 18 KOs) suffered a crushing defeat against American Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs). The main event of the Matchroom boxing night in Philadelphia (USA) ended early.
As predicted by bookmakers, the current IBF welterweight champion had no problems defeating the Russian, who only took Armenian citizenship in 2022.
Enis had no trouble breaking through his opponent's defense and beat him almost one-sidedly in the ring. The key events happened in the 5th round, when Avanesyan missed a left side kick and was knocked out.
The 35-year-old native of Bashkortostan was able to get up and continue the fight, but he was unable to last more than a minute. Avanesyan did not make it to the 6th round.
