VW's affordable electric cars beat Tesla models in the home market

German VW offers mostly affordable electric cars on the market. At the same time, buyers, including those in Europe, are not frightened by the high prices of Tesla models and choose them as their favorites. However, the situation has already changed in Germany.
According to InsideEVs, Volkswagen's inexpensive electric cars have overtaken Tesla in sales on the German market with 41,475 units vs. 40,289 cars respectively since the beginning of 2023.
At the same time, the leadership was still with the American company in the first months, which dominates the electric sector in Europe. However, the German brand introduced a new minivan VW ID. Buzz into the lineup with 2,815 units sold. Most likely, this model influenced the final result.
Buyers show high interest in the ID. Buzz, but it is not possible to satisfy demand yet and production is still being ramped up. Meanwhile, other models like ID.4 and ID.5 crossovers as well as the ID.3 hatchback are in high demand among buyers.
This situation can go beyond Germany to other EU countries and cover the entire home region of Volkswagen. The models of the German brand are the most demanded electric cars even In Ukraine despite the lack of official sales.
OBOZREVATEL shared an inexpensive Fiat electric car, which set a new record for power reserve.
