Switched to cheaper options: what Ukrainians buy instead of cars
Sales of two-wheeled vehicles like motorcycles and mopeds have increased in Ukraine. This is due to the continuation of the summer motorcycle season, as well as the desire to save money on buying a car and go for cheaper options.
Motorcycles and mopeds are many times cheaper than new cars. Buyers who previously doubted the purchase decided to make it at the height of the motorcycle season in Ukraine. Automotive Market Research Institute published sales statistics.
Thus, in June 2023, 8.1 thousand sales of motorcycles and mopeds were registered. The figure increased by 2.5% compared to May and by 5.2% if you look at last year's June.
There were 7.4 thousand new vehicles. 4.7 thousand of them were imported from abroad. That means that buyers still prefer motorcycles and mopeds with no mileage.
