Pelyustka cabbage with beets the Ukrainian way: a classic canning recipe
Pickled cabbage "Pelyustka" is a quick snack. It is traditionally prepared with beets, garlic and necessarily a successful marinade. You can eat such a snack in 2 days, it turns out very crispy and sweet.
One of the culinary blogs(hotuyte_ta_smakuyte) on Instagram posted a recipe for crispy pickled cabbage "Pelyustka" with beets.
- cabbage - 1 medium
- beet - 1 pc
- garlic - 1 head
- salt - 2 tbsp.
- sugar - 4 tbsp.
- vinegar - 70 ml
- oil - 50 ml
- water - 1 liter (okrop)
- bay leaves
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the cabbage, remove the core, and cut into large, petal-like pieces.
2. Peel and slice the beets (raw). Also cut garlic into slices. Place the cut vegetables in layers in a jar or container.
3. To make the marinade you need to mix all the right ingredients.
4. Pour the hot marinade over the vegetables. Put some weight on top and leave so at room temperature for 2-3 days. After - store in the refrigerator.
