"One-hand rule" will save laundry in the machine from soapy streaks and mildew: what is it about
Laundry is a common household chore that, at first glance, doesn't require much attention and effort. However, the owners make a common mistake that leads to powder residues on things and an unpleasant odor.
OBOZ.UA has found an effective tip to help avoid this. Follow the "one-hand rule" and your clothes will always be clean and look neat.
Overloading the washing machine
Most owners wait until they have enough clothes to fill the drum completely. But they don't even realize that this reduces the efficiency of the wash and can damage the machine.
Overloading the appliance prevents the clothes from moving freely in the drum, so the powder is not evenly distributed, leading to the formation of soap stains and dirt residues.
The laundry absorbs all the water, leaving no liquid to dissolve the detergent, which results in a musty smell.
A large pile of laundry can also increase the pressure in the drum, especially when spinning at high speed, which can cause damage to the appliance.
Before starting the machine, make sure that there is enough space in the drum to rotate the clothes properly. There should be space at the top to fit your hand. This will help maintain the good condition of not only the clothes but also the washing machine.
