How to wash a duvet that does not fit in the washing machine: the French method
On the eve of the big spring laundry, when winter clothes need to be prepared for storage in the warm season, many people are concerned about how to wash duvets and large blankets. They simply cannot be put in the washing machine. Of course, you can try to force them in, but in this case, they won't be washed properly because they are packed too tightly.

To use this method, you need to put warm water of the appropriate temperature in the bathtub and add a small amount of detergent: in powder or liquid form. Put the blanket in this solution for four hours.
After it is soaked, it needs to be "beaten out". To do this, you need to stomp on it properly while it is lying in soapy water. This can be done barefoot or in clean rubber boots. The blanket should be turned over periodically.
Then the water is drained and the blanket is rinsed in clean water in the same way. Usually, 3-4 water changes are enough. After that, the blanket should be allowed to drain, for example, by laying it out on a rack over the bathtub or on several stools. When it stops dripping, it can be dried in the usual way.
