Lemon acid breaks down the pigments in tomato sauce and quickly removes dirt from the fabric. Thanks to its low acidity, lemon can handle tough stains and even help break down old dirt or food particles.
The main thing is to act quickly and not let the stain dry because then it will be more difficult to remove. First, use a napkin to blot the area to remove any remaining sauce. However, avoid excessive friction as this will only make things worse.
Next, cut the lemon into small slices and place them on the area. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. During this time, the acid will seep into the fabric and remove the dirt.
You can also use freshly squeezed lemon juice as it has a higher concentration of acid.
