This life hack will help you grow a lot of mint

Mint is a highly invasive plant that quickly takes over huge areas. That's why those who want to grow mint are advised to plant it in containers rather than in open ground to control its reproduction. One of the most aesthetically pleasing ways is the so-called "vertical bed," a structure made of large plastic bottles that will allow you to grow a lot of mint and do it either in your backyard or on your balcony in the city.

To make such a garden bed, you will need three 5-liter eggplants, a universal soil mixture, and a little time. OBOZ.UA tells you about the correct plan of actions.

Take three plastic bottles, cut off the top of one, and cut the other two from the top and bottom. They should be easy to assemble into a tall cylindrical structure and hold together firmly.

Assemble the bottles by sliding them into each other and punch several holes in the bottom for drainage and in the walls of the tube for the mint to germinate. The holes should be wide enough to be up to 1 cm in diameter so that you can burn them with a soldering iron.

Be sure to make holes in the place where one bottle overlaps the other. This is necessary in order to fasten them together with wires or ties.

Next, assemble the irrigation system. Take a plastic bottle with a volume of at least a liter. Make a hole in the lid and insert the drip system into it. Hang this bottle upside down over the mint container.

Fill the "vertical bed" with soil. Take fresh shoots of the plant, clean them of leaves, leaving only the top couple of leaves, cut off the tips of the stems and insert these sections into the holes in the bottles. Insert the hose from the drip from above into the soil and start a slow water supply. Refill the water bottles as they are emptied.

Soon the stems will take root. In a few weeks, the mint will grow and cover the entire surface of the garden, and you can start harvesting fresh herbs.
