Fragrant sprays and chestnuts will help get rid of unwanted neighbors

Usually, spiders in the home are fairly safe neighbors. However, they are also very unpleasant. Arachnophobia - the fear of these creatures - is a fairly common feature of the human psyche. That's why we often wonder how to get spiders out of our homes.

The Sun has described several fairly cheap ways to drive away unwanted neighbors with the help of smells. First of all, experts advise getting rid of dust in the house. It is in the most dusty places that these creatures like to be. After all, these are corners where they will not be disturbed. Moreover, spiders do not like the company of people.

They also don't like some very pleasant odors. Therefore, you can make a spider repellent without using toxic ingredients yourself.

Citrus fruit

Spiders do not like the strong smell of these fruits. Therefore, you can take the fresh juice of one lemon or orange, mix it in equal proportions with water, and spray the corners where spiders like to be with this mixture. The window sill should be treated separately because it is through it that spiders most often enter the house. However, be careful as cats don't like this smell either. In this case, furniture polishes and cleaning liquids with a citrus scent can be a solution.

Mint

A pleasant fresh smell effectively repels spiders. To make the necessary product, you can buy peppermint essential oil and apply it a drop at a time to the places where you most often notice spiders or cobwebs.

You can also make a spray based on this oil. Sprinkle twenty drops of the product on a small lump of table salt, add it to a glass of water and stir well. This spray can be used to treat window sills, baseboards, vents, and even textiles. Repeat the procedure periodically to keep the odor from fading.

Chestnut

It is believed that ordinary chestnuts, which can be picked on the street for free, emit a substance that spiders cannot tolerate. Bowls with chestnuts or chestnuts themselves can be placed in corners where you have noticed spiders, including under the bed and other dark places.
