A TikTok user told the story under the nickname Cleaning Mummy, the Mirror reports. The woman complained that she had been suffering from the stench in her home for some time. It was a real challenge for the blogger, who has gathered more than 760,000 followers with her cleaning tips. No amount of defrosting and washing helped.

She was able to solve the problem when she looked behind the refrigerator and found access to a hidden tray. It has a tube that drains melted water from the refrigerator. In this tray, liquid can stagnate and produce an unpleasant odor.

Usually, it is sufficient to wipe this tray without removing it, but if it is very dirty, Cleaning Mummy recommends unscrewing it and washing it properly. After cleaning is complete, it is important to make sure that the tube is re-inserted into this tray.

Most of the commenters on her TikTok were shocked by this discovery and admitted that they had no idea such a tray existed. However, some tips on the Internet told her how to prevent this outlet from getting clogged. It starts at the back of the refrigerator – there is a small hole there. Once every 3-4 months, it can be rinsed with a solution of soda or alcohol. It is enough to gently pour about 50 milliliters of cleaning liquid into it and clean the tray shortly afterwards.
