How to clean plastic

Removing stains from plastic is sometimes very difficult. And it's not just about ordinary dirt - over time, this material tends to lose its whiteness and develop noticeable yellowing.

Unfortunately, yellowing on plastic is a common problem. OBOZREVATEL figured out how to whiten the material with the help of improvised means.

Water and soda

Baking soda will help get rid of dirt, yellowing, and mold. In a small container (for example, a plate), mix water and baking soda to a paste consistency. Remember: the most important thing is to give the mixture time to work. Therefore, apply the product to the contaminated surface for 20 minutes. Then wash off the baking soda with a cloth or sponge and wipe the plastic with clean water.

Bleach

Cleaning experts recommend trying another method. Bleach is mixed with warm water and applied to the yellowed plastic. Wait 10-15 minutes and rinse off the mixture with a sponge. Then dry the surface with a dry cloth.

Ammonia

If there are stains on the plastic from markers, grease, iodine, brilliant green, etc., you can get rid of the dirt by using products with ammonia.

You can also use the chalk life hack by mixing it with white tooth powder. It is recommended to take equal proportions to make the mixture pasty. The product should be applied to the yellowing and, if necessary, rubbed in. But do not press too hard so that scratches do not appear on the plastic.
