Clothes will be much cleaner: how the "three spoons" and "eight spoons" washing methods work

Modern detergents are usually enough to take good care of your clothes, but hard water or stains still require some life hacks to restore the clothes to their original clean look.

OBOZ.UA tells you how to use ordinary table salt for washing in two ways. The first is called "three spoons" and the second "eight spoons". Both will help get rid of even the most difficult dirt and improve the condition of the washing machine.

Three spoons - against old stains

This method is intended for pre-soaking clothes that have faded or have old stains. To use this method, pour warm water into a bowl and add two tablespoons with a heaping pinch of regular table salt and one tablespoon of baking powder. Stir well and soak the clothes you want to clean in the solution. After a few hours, put the clothes in the washing machine and wash them on the appropriate cycle.

By the way, after this soaking, you can add salt to the drum as well. Two or three spoons will be enough to enhance the effect of the detergent and clean the machine mechanism at the same time.

Eight spoons - against dullness of clothes

Factory fabric softeners can settle in the fibers and make the colors dull and the textile itself stiff. Table salt can also help to remove the residue from the fibers and soften the clothes. To prepare a solution that will improve the quality of the wash, take one liter of warm water and add eight tablespoons of salt. Stir the salt thoroughly, and then add a tablespoon of citric acid and any hair balm to the resulting liquid. Pour the solution into the drum of the machine before washing, and then do everything as usual - put the clothes in, take the usual amount of detergent and set the appropriate washing program.
