Without yeast and eggs: fluffy fried pies in 20 minutes

These pies are perfect for those who are fasting, as well as when you have only a minimal set of ingredients at home. Even without yeast, the dough for the pies is very elastic and pleasant to work with, and the muffin itself is soft and fluffy. You can choose any filling for the pies and cook them with potatoes, cabbage, mushrooms, fruits, or berries.
Food blogger Yuliia (juli_co.ok) shared a recipe for fried yeast-free pies with egg and onion on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- kefir – 400 ml
- baking soda – 0.5 tsp
- salt – 0.5 tsp.
- sugar – 0.5 tsp.
- sunflower oil – 3 tbsp.
- flour – 500-600 g
Filling:
- boiled eggs
- green onions
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Remove the kefir from the refrigerator 1 hour before making the dough.
2. Add baking soda and salt to the kefir. Stir well.
3. Add the oil.
4. Add 500 g of flour. Stir the dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Knead the elastic dough. Cover and leave for 10-15 minutes.
5. Divide the dough into small balls. Cover them with a bag and let them stand for 10 minutes.
6. For the filling, chop all the ingredients. Mix.
7. Form the patties.
8. Fry the patties in a large amount of oil.
