It would seem that everyone can handle such a simple dish as mashed potatoes. But very often it turns out too dense and has a gray color. Therefore, for the perfect taste and consistency, use the following tips.
Food blogger Yuliia Senych (yuliia.senych) shared her secrets for making perfect mashed potatoes on Instagram. Potatoes must be thrown into boiling water with pepper and bay leaves. And add salt when the vegetable is almost ready.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 5-6 pcs.
- butter - 80 g
- milk - 80 ml
- salt
- peppercorns / bay leaves
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into 4-6 pieces.
2. Add bay leaves and peppercorns to the water.
3. Boil to a boil and add the potatoes. Add the potatoes to the hot water.
4. Boil the potatoes until almost tender and add salt.
5. Finish cooking and drain the water.
6. Remove the bay leaves and pepper from the potatoes.
7. Start mashing the potatoes immediately without adding oil.
8. When the potatoes start to become mashed, add half the butter and continue mashing.
9. Heat the milk and the rest of the butter almost to a boil.
10. Start partially pouring in the milk with the melted butter and mash. At this stage, you can whip the mashed potatoes with a mixer for a more loose state.
