What to soak the liver in to make it soft and not bitter: the easiest way

Liver is a very healthy, but at the same time specific product that has a bitter taste and dense texture. That's why it needs to be properly prepared for cooking.

Food blogger Olga with the nickname podomashnemutut shared a recipe for baked liver in the oven on her Instagram page. The cook advises to soak the liver in milk in advance, so it will be tender, soft, and not bitter.

Ingredients:

  • liver
  • milk
  • onion
  • tomatoes
  • hard cheese
  • sour cream
  • butter
  • spices

Method of preparation:

1. First you need to cut the liver, put it in a deep bowl and pour milk. Leave it for a while.

2. Next, chop the onion and fry it until golden brown.

3. Add the liver to the onion, mix and fry for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.

4. Cut the tomatoes into slices, grate the cheese, cut the butter into slices.

5. Put part of the fried liver in the bottom of the baking dish, then put the tomatoes, cheese and a few slices of butter. Repeat until you run out of ingredients. Also add your favorite spices. The top layer should be cheese, butter, and tomatoes. Top with sour cream.

6. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
