Leavening agent is one of the main ingredients in any baked goods. It is this component that helps the dough to rise and become fluffy. But if you suddenly run out of leavening agent and need to bake something right now, you can easily make the product at home.

The idea of making an effective homemade leavening agent was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Inna Kliuchnyk (innakluchnik31). It can be stored for a long time in a dry, airtight container.

Ingredients:

  • baking soda - 3 tsp.
  • starch - 3 tsp.
  • flour - 3 tsp.
  • citric acid - 1.5 tsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Pour baking soda into a bowl.

2. Add the starch.

3. Add the sifted flour.

4. Add citric acid.

5. Mix everything well.

6. Pour into a dry, airtight storage container.

7. Shake the leavening agent container well before each use to ensure that the citric acid crystals are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

8. If necessary, add to any dough.
