What to cook with potatoes instead of frying and mashing: a dish without meat
The fastest ways to cook potatoes are frying and mashing them. But these dishes are quite ordinary. Besides, they are not very healthy. Therefore, a very good option would be to make a potato gratin.
The idea of cooking a hearty potato gratin was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Valeria Demchuk (mrs.demenchuk).
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 800 g
- 20% cream - 250-350 ml
- Parmesan cheese - 100 g
- bay leaf - 2 pcs
- ground nutmeg - a pinch
- garlic - 2 cloves
- butter - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
2. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices.
3. Put them in a wide saucepan or saucepan, pour cream to completely cover the potatoes.
4. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg, crushed 2 cloves of garlic and bay leaf. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Remove the bay leaves.
6. Put part of the potatoes in a baking dish and sprinkle with grated cheese. Put the second part of the potatoes, put a piece of butter on top and sprinkle with grated cheese again.
7. Bake in the oven for 35-50 minutes.
