Pilaf is an authentic Uzbek dish that has long been spread around the world. There are many different ways to cook this dish.
Food blogger Liubov Pryimak decided to share one of them. On Instagram, she shared all the secrets of cooking this wonderful dish.
Ingredients:
- Pork meat - 500 gr
- Long grain rice - 500 gr
- Onion - 500 gr
- Carrots - 500 g
- Seasoning for pilaf - 1 tsp
- Turmeric - 1 tsp
- Salt
- Pepper
- Dried barberry
- Oil - 150 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Fry the meat in a well-heated frying pan with oil until golden brown.
2. Add the onion and, as soon as it becomes transparent, add the carrots.
3. When the carrots are softened and begin to fry, add all the spices, a clove of unpeeled garlic, and water, and cook for 30 minutes.
4. Rinse the rice thoroughly, cover with cold water, and leave for 30 minutes.
5. Drain the rice and add it to the future pilaf. Smooth the layer without stirring.
6. Pour boiling water 1 finger above the level of the rice. Cover with a lid, turn up the heat to maximum, and let the rice absorb the water completely.
7. Make holes to the very bottom and cook over low heat for 15 minutes under the lid.
8. Turn off the heat and leave the lid on for another 30 minutes.
