What is labneh and how to make it: better than any spread
Labneh is the easiest cheese to make at home. It is based on only two ingredients - yogurt and salt, but if you want you can add other spices each time and then the taste will also be different.
- Greek yogurt - 1 p
- pinch of salt
- dried garlic
- spices (paprika, coriander, zira, oregano, thyme, dried herbs - experiment as desired)
Method of preparation:
1. Add a pinch of salt and dried garlic to the yogurt. Mix everything thoroughly.
2. The resulting mass put on a towel or gauze and set on a sieve. Place a wick or something heavy on top and leave in this form overnight in the refrigerator.
3. During this time all the excess liquid should drain away, and the mass should become thick and stick in one lump. This indicates that the cream cheese is ready.
