What batter to bake onion rings in to make them crispy: chef's idea

Onion rings are a delicious homemade snack that is perfect for cozy family gatherings. Cooking the appetizer will take you quite a bit of time. But in order for the dish to have a rich golden color and crispy taste, you should choose the right batter.
The idea of cooking crispy onion rings was shared by famous Ukrainian chef Liza Glinskaya (lizaglinskaya) on her Instagram page. The main ingredient to add to the batter is beer.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of onions
- 230 g flour (7.5 tbsp. with a slide)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 370 ml light beer
- 8 g leavening agent (2 tsp.)
Additional ingredients:
- 50 g flour (2.5 tbsp. without a slide)
- vegetable refined oil for frying
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and slice the onion into 1.5 cm wide rings.
2. Unpeel and put the rings in cold water.
3. Leave the onion rings in cold water for 5-10 mins so that they are not bitter.
4. Dry the rings on a paper towel.
5. For the beer batter, mix together the flour, leavening agent and salt.
6. Add the light beer and stir to make sure there are no lumps.
7. Dip the rings in the flour, then in the beer batter and put in the heated oil.
8. Fry until golden.
9. Transfer the rings to a paper towel.
