Stuffed cabbage is a traditional Ukrainian dish that millions of people have loved since childhood. However, many housewives are cooking cabbage rolls less and less often because they take too much time to prepare.
That's why a new vision of this dish has emerged to save time – lazy cabbage rolls. They cook much faster because they don't need to be wrapped in cabbage leaves. A blogger with the nickname sugaring.ostrog.solodkaledi shared the recipe on Instagram.
Ingredients for cabbage rolls:
- Minced meat – 500 gr
- Rice – 100 gr
- Cabbage, chopped in a blender – 300 g
- Egg – 1 pc
- Onion – 1 pc
- Salt
- Pepper
Ingredients for the filling:
- Onion – 1 pc
- Carrots – 1 pc
- Tomato paste – 2-3 tbsp
- Sour cream – 100 g
- Water – 500 ml
- Starch 1-2 tsp
- Salt
- Pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Mix the minced meat, rice, chopped cabbage, onion, egg, salt and pepper in one container and mix well.
2. Form patties of any shape and place in a frying pan.
3. Fry the grated carrots, chopped onions, salt, pepper, and tomato paste in a little oil.
4. Add sour cream, water, and starch. Bring to a boil.
5. Pour the roast over the future lazy cabbage rolls. Put on low heat, cover and simmer for 50 minutes.
