Thick, delicate, and most importantly, healthy mayonnaise can be made at home. Traditionally, it is cooked with raw or boiled eggs or milk and flavored with spices. And the whole cooking process takes just a few minutes.
Food blogger Snizhana (snizhana.dudok) shared her recipe and secrets for making thick homemade mayonnaise on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- lemon juice - 2 tbsp
- salt - 0.5 tsp
- sugar - 0.5-1 tsp
- pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- mustard - 2 tsp.
- vegetable oil - 200-300 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Mix eggs, salt, sugar, pepper, mustard and lemon juice. Start beating with a mixer for a few minutes.
2. While beating, gradually pour in oil. Beat for a few more seconds until the mixture becomes light and thick.
3. Store the finished mayonnaise in the refrigerator.
Important points:
- It is advisable to prepare the mayonnaise in a blender bowl or in a tall jar so that the mass does not spread.
- All ingredients should be at room temperature.
- Place the mixer exactly on top of the eggs. Whisk at low speed and do not lift until a white mass begins to appear. Only then can you lift the mixer.
