Crispy croutons are a good addition to salads, vegetables, first courses, or just for breakfast. They are made from a minimal amount of available ingredients: garlic, spices, herbs, or even just an egg, which makes for a rather satisfying dish.
Food blogger Tetiana (tanyushina) shared a recipe for croutons with yolk and herbs on her Instagram page.
Ingredients for 1 crouton:
- bread – 1 piece
- eggs – 1 pc
- greens
- hard cheese
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. Cut a hole in the middle of a slice of bread.
2. Chop the greens.
3. Mix the egg and herbs. Season with salt.
4. Put the bread on a preheated frying pan. Pour the egg mixture into the hole.
5. Put cheese and a slice of bread that has been cut. Press down lightly with a spatula and fry on both sides until cooked.
