Sushi cake for dinner: a great analogue of a familiar dish that is easy to prepare at home
Almost everyone loves sushi. However, not everyone can afford to eat it every day, because it is a rather expensive dish if ordered in special establishments.
That is why a sushi cake made at home with your own hands will be a great alternative. This dish can be safely served on a festive table, because it is not only delicious, but also incredibly beautiful. The sushi cake recipe was shared on Instagram by food blogger anny.cooking.
Salad ingredients for a 16-18 cm mold
- Round-grain rice - 300 g + 400 ml of water
- Cream cheese - 250 g
- Cucumber - 1 pc
- Avocado - 1 pc
- Nori leaves - 2-3 pcs
- Lightly salted fish - 300 g
- Sesame seeds
Ingredients for the dressing
- Hot water - 100 ml
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tbsp
- Salt - ½ tsp.
Useful tips:
- Before cooking, rice should be washed under cold water 4-5 times
- Cook the rice over low heat in a thick-bottomed saucepan for 15 minutes after boiling. After that, do not open the lid for another 15 minutes.
Method of preparation
1. Pour the pre-cooked dressing over the still hot rice. Mix well and leave to cool completely.
2. Put the rice on the bottom of the baking dish and spread it with cream cheese.
3. Use scissors to cut the nori sheets and sprinkle the cream cheese over them to form a new layer.
4. Put a layer of diced cucumber.
5. Next is a layer of diced fish.
6. Again, layers of rice and cream cheese and nori.
7. Then a layer of avocado and fish again.
8. Put the rest of the rice, cream cheese and nori.
9. The last layer is fish slices.
10. Put the cake in the refrigerator for one hour, then remove the mold.
11. Sprinkle the cake with sesame seeds and herbs before serving.
12. After a piece of cake has been placed on a serving plate, pour soy sauce over it.
