Spicy satsebeli sauce from tomatoes: a successful recipe for meat and vegetables

Satsebeli is a savory Georgian sauce that is easy to make at home. It is ideal for meat and baked vegetables. The appetizer is based on tomatoes, peppers and aromatic spices.
Food blogger Maryna Novikova (marisha_recepti) on her Instagram page shared a recipe for spicy satsebeli sauce made of tomatoes and peppers.
Ingredients:
- tomatoes - 2 kg
- sweet red pepper - 0.5 kg
- onion - 1 pc
- hot pepper - 1 pc
- garlic - 100 g
- salt - 20 g
- sugar - 150 g
- 9% vinegar - 75 ml
- ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- coriander - 1 tsp.
- dried basil - 1 tsp.
- hops-sunneli - 2 tsp.
- starch - 20 g + water - 50 ml
- parsley, basil
Method of preparation:
1. Grind tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, garlic and onions through a meat grinder.
2. Add salt and sugar. Put on fire, bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.
3. Add chopped herbs and simmer for another 10 minutes.
4. Add all the spices and vinegar and simmer for another 10 minutes.
5. Dilute the starch with water, add to the sauce mixture and cook for a few more minutes.
6. Pour the hot sauce into sterile jars and close with lids. Done!
