Spectacular salad "Tbilisi": prepared without mayonnaise

"Tbilisi" is a salad that is based on beef meat. That's why the dish is moderately fatty and at the same time remains satisfying. In addition, it has a very light and flavorful dressing based on oil and herbs.

The idea of preparing a spectacular Tbilisi salad was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Iryna Dimitrova (iriska_dimitrova).

Ingredients:

  • 250-300 g of boiled beef
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 50-60 g of walnuts
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 200 g of canned/boiled beans
  • a bunch of fresh cilantro
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic

Marinade for onions:

  • 0.5 tsp. of sugar
  • 1 tsp. of salt
  • 2 tbsp. of lemon juice

Ingredients for the dressing:

  • 4-5 tbsp. of olive/sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp. of balsamic/wine/apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5-1 tsp. of hops suneli
  • 0.5 tsp. of salt
  • hot red pepper
  • black pepper

Method of preparation:

1. Cut the red onion into feathers, add salt, sugar, lemon juice, mix, and leave to marinate for 20 minutes.

2. Cut the boiled beef and bell pepper into strips. Add canned or boiled beans.

3. Chop a bunch of fresh cilantro, chop the garlic, and add to the bowl.

4. Fry the walnuts in a dry frying pan for a few minutes until golden and chop with a knife.

5. Squeeze the onion out of the marinade and add it to the salad. Drizzle with dressing, mix, and let stand for 20-30 minutes to mix the flavors.
