Spectacular appetizer of jacket potatoes and herring: suitable for a festive table and for every day
Herring and potatoes are ingredients that many people simply cannot imagine separately. It is very tasty and budget-friendly. And if you want to serve such products on a festive table in an interesting way, use the following appetizer option.
The idea of making a potato and herring appetizer was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna with the nickname katia_cooking_. The flavorful pickled onions, which should be placed on top, perfectly complement the taste.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 5 pcs.
- vegetable oil
- purple onion - 2 pcs.
- water - 300 ml.
- vinegar 9% - 2.5 cups
- salt - 1 tsp.
- sugar - 1 tsp.
- herring fillet - 3-4 pcs.
- oil - 3-4 tbsp.
- grainy mustard - 1.5 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the potatoes well.
2. Cook until half cooked.
3. Cut in half and place in the mold.
4. Brush with vegetable oil and put in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
5. Cut the onion into rings, cover with water.
6. Add vinegar with sugar and salt.
7. Leave for 10 minutes.
8. Cut the herring fillet into thin slices, and then mix the vegetable oil and mustard in a separate bowl.
9. Stir until smooth, add the sauce to the herring.
10. Take out the potatoes with a spoon, remove the middle.
11. Put the herring filling in the center, pickled onions on top and garnish with dill.
