Snail pie with cherries and cottage cheese: what kind of dough to make it without crumbling
Philo dough, like puff pastry, is the basis for making a variety of pies, cakes, desserts, and even snacks. One option is the sweet snail pie, which can be made with any filling: cottage cheese, apples, poppy seeds, or cherries. It is worth noting that the pastry holds its shape perfectly and does not crumble.
Food blogger Tatiana Sheremet(tania_sheremet_) on her Instagram page shared the recipe for Snail cake with cottage cheese and cherries from phyllo dough.
Ingredients:
- filo dough - 400 g
- 5-9% cottage cheese - 500 g
- 20 % sour cream - 3 tablespoons
- sugar - 80 g
- canned cherries in their own juice
- butter - 100-120 gr
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the filling you need to add sugar and sour cream to the cottage cheese. Whisk everything with a blender until smooth. Toss the cherries separately in a colander to drain the excess juice.
2. Pre-thaw the phyllo dough. Take one sheet of dough, brush it with melted butter, and cover it with the second sheet of dough.
3. Next put some of the cottage cheese filling and cherries. First, wrap everything into a roll, and roll it in the form of a so-called snail. Repeat with the rest of the dough and put all the rolls in a round.
4. Brush the shaped pie with the remaining butter.
5. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees 35-40 minutes.
