Rice with nettles: an unusual, tasty and lean spring dish

Rice with nettles is not only a tasty but also a very interesting dish that will add a wonderful spring mood to everyone who tastes it. Moreover, this dish is a lean one, which is very important as most Christians are currently observing Lent.

The recipe for this unusual dish was shared by a food blogger with the nickname recepti_dariko. On Instagram, she explained how to cook rice with this plant so that it turns out to be tasty and crumbly.

Ingredients

  • rice - 100 grams
  • young nettle - 300 g
  • green onions - 1 bunch
  • oil - 1-2 tbsp
  • water - 400 ml
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oregano

Method of preparation

1. Pour boiling water over nettles for 1-3 minutes, rinse, disassemble into leaves and chop.

2. Heat 1-2 tbsp of oil in a small saucepan. Add chopped green onions and fry for three minutes. Then add nettles.

3. Add washed rice, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

4. Add 400 ml of boiling water, stir, cover and cook until all the liquid has evaporated.

5. Add chopped herbs, stir and serve. By the way, nettles can be replaced with spinach.
