Pine cone jam: why it is useful and how to prepare it properly
A Christmas tree is not only a festive New Year's attribute but also a product that is very important for health. In particular, pine cones. They can be used to make healthy jam, an excellent antiviral agent.
The idea of making a healthy jam from pine cones was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Oksana Vozniuk (chef_vozniuk_oksi). The product is perfectly stored.
Ingredients:
- pine cones - 1 kg
- water - 1 liter
- sugar - 1 kg
- lemon - 1 pc
- mint to taste - 50 g
Method of preparation:
1. Pour cold water over cones.
2. Bring to a boil and add sugar and lemon slices.
3. Cook for about 2 hours until you see that the color has become saturated.
4. Next, add mint with a sprig because later it has to be removed. Continue to cook for 15 minutes.
5. Pour the finished jam into sterilized jars.
