Pea soup in a new way: what meat should be added

Pea soup is a dish familiar from childhood, characterized by a high content of nutrients and essential substances in the cold season. To make the first course in a new way, it is enough to add smoked meat in addition to the usual meat - the soup will sparkle with incredible taste and aroma.

Ingredients:

  • smoked brisket - 200 g
  • split peas - 2 cups
  • chicken quarter - 1 pc
  • potatoes - 4 pcs
  • carrots - 2 pcs
  • green onions - 1 bunch
  • greens (for serving)
  • salt
  • dry garlic
  • bay leaf
  • vegetable oil
What to cook with peas

Method of preparation:

1. First, prepare some ingredients. The peas should be soaked in cold water overnight.

2. Boil the chicken quarter and in the finished form to separate the meat in it. Do not pour out the water.

3. Grate the carrots, cut the potatoes into cubes, chop the brisket, chop the green onions.

4. Fry the brisket in vegetable oil, add green onions and carrots. Season with salt and sprinkle with dry garlic. Fry for 5 minutes.

5. Pour in the peas and cover with the chicken broth. Cook for 45 minutes.

6. Then add the potatoes and bay leaves. Cook for another 15 minutes.

8. When serving, sprinkle with greens.
