Original pita bread pie with chicken and corn: when you don't have time to knead the dough
Pita bread is a very versatile product. It can be used to make pies, rolls, shawarma, and even pizza.
But food blogger Olha Riabenko went even further and decided to make a real pie using pita bread instead of dough. She shared how to make such a pie on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- Pita bread - 200 gr
- Onion - 1 pc
- Hard cheese - 200 gr
- Milk - 150 gr
- Butter - 70 gr
- Egg - 1 pc
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Salt
- Pepper
- Canned corn - 1 b
- Chicken fillet or boneless thigh - 400 g
- Green onions
Method of preparation:
1. Cook the chicken meat and disassemble it into fibers.
2. Chop and fry the onion. Add to the chicken.
3. Grate the cheese. Chop the green onion.
4. Heat the milk with butter and grease the pita bread.
5. Put cheese, chicken and onions, corn, green onions on the pita bread and roll it up.
6. Grease a baking dish with oil. Put the pita bread in it, and press it down well so that the pita bread spreads out in the mold.
7. Add the egg and sugar to the remaining milk and butter. Mix everything and pour over the cake.
8. Bake for 30 minutes at 200°.
